NICET FOLLOW-UP TO CBT QUESTIONS
--------------------------------

Hi Mike,

A few people brought the question from James Franklin that appeared in
your newsletter to my attention. I am hoping to provide some
clarification and direction for getting accurate answers. I appreciate
all the valuable information you provided.

Certification has consisted of passing an exam or exams, meeting work
history requirements, and a performance verification for many years.

NICET recently split the pricing for testing and the experience parts
of the application for the new Standard Model/CBT programs. This
provides flexibility for the customer. With CBT it is now possible for
someone to apply online on Monday and test on Wednesday. The
experience application can be submitted before, after or at the same
time as the test application. For the experience part an applicant can
choose Level I or to the highest level they believe they are qualified.
The experience applications are reviewed in the order they are
received and the review is no longer tied to meeting an exam
requirement.

Previously only existing customers could get online access and apply
online. About two weeks ago we added the capability for new customers
to register and apply online. When you have a chance please visit
https://candidate.nicet.org/register.aspx.

Mr. Franklin registered online as a new customer. I went ahead and
answered Mr. Franklin as well. Here are my answers.

"To login to the NICET website you need your NICET ID and password.
This information is sent to you by email at registration. Your NICET
ID is xxxxxx.

All experience packages are available online at
http://www.nicet.org/candidates/forms.cfm. These pdf files must be
filled out, printed and signed then returned by mail. NICET has over
25 certification programs, please make sure to select the one for the
program you for which you are applying.

Once you receive eligibility to test from NICET. You may contact
Pearson Vue (http://www.pearsonvue.com/nicet/) directly to schedule
your exam at the location and time that is most convenient for you.
This same information is provided with your confirmation notice.

NICET customer service (888-476-4238) can help you with most issues
concerning the NICET website or direct you to the right department for
help. Also you can choose option 6 from the main menu."

I hope this helps and feel free to contact me directly if you have any
questions or concerns.

Best Regards,
Chip Hollis
