Understand audible, visible, and combination alarm notification appliances and their application, including such concepts as alarm by zone, alarm signal coordination with other systems in the building, visual and tactile alarm appliances for the handicapped, attenuation of audible signals by distance and building partitions, background noise considerations, and recommended signal levels above ambient.
