Relevant Standards

The following organizations issue standards appropriate to this certification program (003 Fire Alarm Systems). The standards below are specifically referenced in the work element listing. Each Fire Protection exam applicant will be mailed a listing of the NFPA standards with his or her exam confirmation letter. This listing will give the edition year of the NFPA standard used in writing the test questions. This information can also be found on NICET's web site.
  • See pages 6 and 21 in [the Program Detail] Manual for additional information concerning publications and standards.
  • This listing is not intended to be complete or representative.
  • In all cases, we suggest that the most current edition of the publication be used.
